COMMENTS FROM CAP

Saturday, October 27th started out windy and chilly.  Thirty two shooters braved the weather and it turned out to be a beautiful day to play.

Three stages had bonus targets although the clay bird/horse fiasco was somewhat dangerous for the timer, at least on our posse.

Gun troubles seemed to haunt several of us as there were a number of broken or jammed firearms.  But all in all it was a great time, however maybe we should take up a donation for the Salsa Brothers so they could buy some cigars that are more tobacco than “horse pucky”.

Our fall and winter get togethers will be at a new location this year, the Okoboji Bar and Grill in Ankeny.  We will have our own private room where seating and conversation should be easier than in the past.  Good going to the ladies that planned the change.

In the meantime, keep your powder dry; see you later, God willing and the creek don’t rise.

What a nice day for our last shoot of 2007. Started out a mite cool but Cowboy Hurt was back with a nice fire and a big  ol’ pot of cowboy coffee on to boil!! By afternoon it warmed up enough to enjoy a fine seegar with my Salsa Brother Habenero Kid!!

Let’s give a big ol’ Zen Shootists welcome to Gabby Walker SASS #76430, he shot his first match with us and is looking forward to next year.

Visiting us from Ike Clanton’s SASS club in Minnesota was Dangerous Dick Dandy and Pappy Morgan. Goes to show that “If you Build it, they well come”.

Thanks to Sue Dooley for the fine vittles!!

Mark your calendars for our winter round ups at Okoboji Bar and Grill 2010 S.E. Delaware in Ankeny which is just a few blocks north of Sportsman Warehouse. Dates are Sunday November 18th, Saturday December 15th and Saturday February 16th from 6 to 10 p.m. Also our Annual Social will be on January 12th at Prairie Meadows in Altoona.
