Saturday, August 22nd, proved to be a great day to be outside.  It started out cool with heavy dew and it kept getting better.  Although we didn’t have a large turnout (35) those that were there seemed to really enjoy the mild temperatures and slight breeze.

Kathy Hansen, a reporter from the Ames Tribune came out after lunch to check us out and wrote a nice article published in their Sunday edition.  It isn’t often gun enthusiasts get positive publicity so this is a refreshing article.

We had several new shooters and that’s great!  I know it is difficult and somewhat intimidating when you venture out of your comfort zone to try something different.

But remember, we ALL were there at one time.

Gun and equipment problems seemed to plague our posse on the first stage, but once that was solved the rest of the day went well.  I love to see the smile on a shooter’s face when they just shot a clean or good stage.

We had interesting stages thanks to Marshall and Miss Kitty Morris for writing them.  Also thanks to those that showed up the Saturday before the match to move targets, paint targets, etc.  We want to give a big hand to the ones that come early the day of the shoot to help set up, do registrations, put props on the stages, etc.; and for those that stay after the match to pick things up and put them away.  This is the “Cowboy Way”.

Don’t forget, the dates for our next shoot have been moved up to September 12th, the

SECOND SATURDAY.   This was done to accommodate the 3 day shoot in Logan.

See you next time, God willing and the creek don’t rise.
