Finally our first shoot came to pass.

The new Scorpion Gulch has begun to take shape due to the hard work of many.  Lots of work left to do but in time we can make it a fine place to play.

I thought the turnout (43 shooters) was tremendous for a day that started out looking like rain.  I, like most, was especially thankful for the targets being in place and staying.  It sure was nice to finish playing and not have to load everything.

Our new range really fits the old saying “see you next time, God willing and the creek

don’t  rise.

YaaaHoo, now that was worth the wait!!  The first shoot at the new Scorpion Gulch at Jonny Sharpknife Field (sounds like a baseball team) was held on a beautiful warm spring day. Arrived to the smell of coffee brewin by Cowboy Hurt. Six fun stages. My favorite was the stage with the good looking Salsa Brothers Habenero Kid and myself Chili Pepper Kid as a couple of grave robbers. What’s nice is it’s only a two week wait until the next shoot.

Like to recognize some shooters attending the shoot. Returning to the Zen Shootists is Indian Creek Adams SASS #39952 who last shot when the range was in Colfax. He is looking forward to shooting with us as he only lives a wind aided tobaccy spit away from the range.  Attending their  first shoot with the Zen Shootists was Leroy Brady # 75695 and his wife Blazing Nell Brady and son Conner from Garner, Ia. What a nice family!  Also attending their first shoot with the Zen Shootists was Blaze O’ Glory SASS #33128 and wife Mad Mabel SASS # 43143 and Daughter Jenny whom has thrown a soon to be matrimonial loop and dally around our pard Silverado Rider. Also attending their first Zen Shootists meet was Bear SASS #74353 and Pokey Rooster SASS # 75848 and both of them were saying what a nice shoot it was. Shooting for her very first match was Conlou SASS # 69375 wife of Tommy T. I thought she did a great job at her first shoot.
